Commit Update: Foster set to kick off
Rivals.com Position Ranking: 11th-ranked kicker.
Commitment Date: 4/28/2009.
Recruited By: Nick Saban.
Current Height and Weight?: "6-foot-1, 215 pounds."
On his future jersey number at Alabama: "Maybe 32. I don't really care that much, I just don't want a high number."
On his recent in-home visit from Saban: "It was really good to talk to him in person again. It was different because he wasn't in a game atmosphere or surrounded by other coaches. He was kind of relaxed and we just got a chance to talk about my future. I know he'll be all business the next time I see him."
On his future roommates at UA: "I'll be with Austin Shepherd and Chad Lindsay. It's nice that I won't be the only guy coming in January so we'll all sort of get to go through that together."
On being a larger-than-average kicker: "I know that I'm going to have my part to play on the team but I want to show everyone that I'm not just a kicker. I'm a football player. I've been through hard practices and full workouts just like all of them throughout my high school career. I can get in the weight room and hang in there with everybody else. I don't want to just be a guy standing on the sidelines. I want to be a real part of this team."
On what he'll study at UA: "I'm going to wait until after my first semester before I decide on a major. I plan on just getting a lot of my core classes out of the way this spring and just sort of getting used to college life."
On his favorite moment of his senior year at Southlake Carroll: "Beating Allen in the playoffs was the highlight of my whole time at Carroll. They are really our biggest rivals and they were starting to talk about how they had taken our place after they won state last year. Beating them was just so huge for us. It was the game we had waited for all year."
On what some fans may not know about him: "I'm really into hunting and fishing and I'm also very involved in a lot of activities with my church."
On why he chose Alabama: "It's a great campus, a great coaching staff and a great school but what really sets Alabama apart is their fanbase. It's unlike anything I've ever seen anywhere else. I didn't want to go somewhere that only cares about the team sometimes. At Alabama, they care all year and every year."
On his expectations for his freshman year: "I definitely am coming in expecting to start at field goals and kickoffs this spring. Coming in early was huge for me because I know this is a rare opportunity to be able to come in and have both of these jobs open with Leigh graduating. It's a great opportunity but it's also a lot of pressure being the only scholarship guy at my position. I think I'm prepared but I have to keep improving and working hard everyday."
On outgoing senior kicker Leigh Tiffin: "Leigh gave me my campus tour on my official visit. He's a really good guy and a guy who really worked hard and went through a lot to get to where he is. I really hope I get the chance to work with him some this spring while he's still around on campus."
