Arrowhead big man getting Big 10 looks

Among the biggest stars at Arrowhead, literally and figuratively, is Jacob Lindenberg. Lindenberg has one more year of high school ball to play, yet it's probably a safe bet that he's bigger than you.
Standing 6'7 and weighing 320 pounds, his size alone is enough reason for colleges to notice him. Scouts who usually visit Arrowhead anyway are getting a great look at him. "People see my size and think I'm some big tough guy," Lindenberg said, "and that's not really how I work. I'm actually a very shy and timid person. In the game of football you really have to bring that attitude which is sometimes a little harder for guys like me. You really have to convince yourself that your the best to be the best."

"I believe I have decent speed and quickness for a man of my size," Lindenburg told us, "but that is an area where a little improvement wouldn't hurt anyone." He added, "I do like to pride myself on my footwork, I think its probably the greatest upside of my game."
His main weaknesses on the field may not be a lack of a particular attribute, but simply an area he can improve on to make him a more appealing recruit. Flexibility is crucial to a big man and Lindenburg knows it. "I need to develop greater upper body strength. Also right now I'm working on my posture, flexibility, and all around athleticism which will help a lot when it comes to my game."
As they say, "you can't teach size;" one does learn how to utilize that size. "I've always been the biggest kid in my class and knew that would equate to football. I guess when I started getting mail from schools it really hit me that football likely will be the route I take in college."
Lindenburg's size would seem to predispose him as an excellent Division 1 lineman, and a lot of those schools across the country concur. The Arrowhead star says the recruiting process has "been very nice to me." He's gotten letters from several of the Big Ten schools, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, and Indiana, but has been hearing from Iowa State, Notre Dame, and even Stanford.
Despite all the early attention, it will be a while before Lindenburg starts narrowing his choices down. In fact, he's more interested in adding to that list of schools or possibly increasing the interest from those teams. "I know Coach Taraska is working on getting some of my highlight tapes done and once we start sending those out and once spring starts getting close I think things will start heating up."
We'll keep tabs on Arrowhead's biggest recruit throughout the spring and keep you posted.
