Sitting on nine commitments in the 2018 recruiting class, one position Wisconsin still has room for is defensive end, where the staff currently has a pledge from in-state junior Boyd Dietzen.
Friday, offensive coordinator Joe Rudolph stopped by Unity High School in Balsam Lake, Wis., and checked on lineman Logan Hendrickson.
"A coach from Wisconsin actually came and watched me lift on Friday," Hendrickson told BadgerBlitz.com. "He talked to my coach and they want to get me to camp this summer. He also explained how they were impressed with the workout."
A 6-foot-5, 230-pound prospect, Hendrickson, who had 107 tackles and 3.5 sacks as a junior (according to wissports.net), grew up following the Badgers.
"I grew watching them play and have always supported the Badgers," Hendrickson said. "It's always fun seeing players make it to the NFL from Wisconsin as well."
At this point, Hendrickson currently has three scholarships in hand with interest coming from a handful of other schools.
"I have three scholarship offers from Northern Illinois, Western Illinois and Indiana State," Hendrickson said. "During the evaluation period a lot of college coaches have come in to watch me lift like Iowa, Wisconsin, South Dakota, North Dakota State and a few more.
"Iowa was also impressed with my workout and would like to get me to camp. This spring I took one visit to North Dakota State and I am attending some camps along the way. I plan to go to both Iowa and Wisconsin this summer. Also, I will be at North Dakota State's individual camp and also the Minnesota-Duluth team camp as well."
Despite an enrollment of under 300 students, Unity also features Cody Ince, who is hearing from many of the same schools as Hendrickson on the recruiting front.
"It means a lot to go through the process with my best friend," Hendrickson said of Ince. "It makes me push myself harder and also pushes both of us to do our best at all times.
"We haven't really talked about playing together in college. I mean, it would be a blast to be able to play together if we get the opportunity. It's always fun to be playing with someone you are used to and also are familiar with."
