Tyler Beach is ready to get started at Wisconsin

Offensive lineman Tyler Beach of Port Washington High School in Wisconsin is ready for college to start and move onto college football. That dream became one step closer with Signing Day in February.

“Signing Day was really fun,” Beach told BadgerBlitz.com. “It was cool because I ended up signing the real document in the morning at like 8:00 AM because Wisconsin wanted it in as early as possible so they could talk about me.

“Then later I had a smaller get together with my football team in the library and had like a fake signing - the news was there and stuff so it was a lot of fun. It was really cool to finally have a dream come true.”

The coaches plan to have Beach work at left tackle when fall camp opens in August, and the 6-foot-6, 285-pound prospect knows the tradition Wisconsin has at that position.

“They’re really interested in me at left tackle,” Beach said. “They’ve talked to me about it and helped me out planning for that since I came to the camp last year. Hopefully I’ll be able to stay at that position but it’s a big competition”

Beach, a former three-star prospect who picked the Badgers over offers from Michigan and Notre Dame, among others, visited campus last Friday with one of his prep teammates, 2019 athlete Deron Spicer. He is also coming for the Spring Game on April 21.

A member of the 2016 recruiting class, Beach has kept in contact with the other signees via a Twitter group chat, and says they are starting to become much closer with each other.

“We have a big group chat and we’ll talk a lot, especially with a lot of the walk-ons in the class,” Beach said. “We have this big group chat on Twitter that we’ll talk and we kind of built relationships because we have kind of chosen our roommates for summer housing.

“So a lot of us have roommates already. I’ll be rooming with Aaron Vopal over the summer, so I’ll be able to get to know him”

Asked if he is excited to move on to the next chapter of his life, Beach responded, “Oh yeah, I’m starting to get senioritis in high school, it’s getting hard.”
